This was shot on the Canon 5D except the low angel shot of the boots kicking the leaves that was shot on 7D at 60FS.
Lenses used were:
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM
Canon EF 50mm F/1.8
Most of it was shot on the 17-40mm lens. We used a Steadicam Pilot and a few hand held shots. Converted it to ProRes and then cut and color corrected in FCP.

Cette semaine fut marquée par le teaser enfin dévoilé de Lagoa Multiphysics un puissant moteur physique qui fonctionne sous ICE.  Une autre chose aussi, c’est la sortie de Magic Bullet Colorista 2, le plugin d’aide à l’étalonnage de Red Giant Sowtware. Certes ça ne change pas votre vie, mais pour les visiteurs intéressés qui passent, ça nous fait des joujoux en plus!

Côté jeuvideo on a pu voir Lara Croft et le Gardien de la Lumière ainsi que le teaser du prochain Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, j’ai rajouté à la suite de l’article la vidéo de l’E3 2010 concernant le gameplay et les premières images ingame.  Et enfin, celui qu’on attend tous, les images ingame (E3 2010) de Crysis 2 – Marine Salvage.

Côté court métrage, l’épisode 2 de Manifest Destiny a été release (et oui je bilinguise mes phrases). C’est un vrai chef d’œuvre réalisé au Canon EOS 550D (petit frère du Canon EOS 7D), un vrai plaisir.  On a également cette vidéo tournée au Panasonic Lumix GH1, je ne la met pas dans les Coups de Cœur, il manque une certaine narration, trop facile sinon de mettre une belle musique et de filmer sa rue   Cela dit, elle mérite d’être vue, ainsi que Mongolian Racer, ce fabuleux reportage au bout du monde.

Pour le reste, rendez vous au cinéma pour Inception, de Christopher Nolan !

A film I have been working on and off on since 2007. Wasn’t able to mold it into what I wanted, but at this point I am just happy to call it done. Regardless I am happy with how it has turned out. Please, Constructive criticism is welcome.

Shot and edited this in only a few hours today. I had to get permission to shoot in this EPIC old junkyard near my home. The place has been around since the 1930’s and it is full of cars from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s. There are literally hundreds of cars just like this one there. The forest has reclaimed a lot of the land and the place is surreal.
I wasn’t sure how much time I was going to have to edit this so I intentionally shot this with a warm white balance using my T2i. I wanted it to have a warm look to it so in case I didn’t have time to color it I shot it warm. This is straight from the camera.
For lenses I used a 50mm1.8 with Fader ND and the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 (in love with this lens..lol)
I left a great number of awesome looking shots out in order to squeeze 90 seconds. Going to edit up a longer piece and return to this place to interview the old lady who owns this place.

Cette semaine nous avons accueilli dans l’équipe « Kirimaru » qui s’occupera donc des bandes annonces de jeuvideo. En effet, on ne peut pas s’occuper de tout en même temps. D’ailleurs il nous reste une place de newser disponible pour les bandes annonces de cinéma, vous pouvez nous écrire via le formulaire de contact en bas de page (et oui on gratte, on gratte…). Cette semaine dans les bandes annonces de jeuvideo notre sélection s’arrêtera sur Deus Ex – Human Revolution (pour ceux qui ont remarqué, c’est une boulette de Kirimaru qui a newsé un article que j’avais déjà posté il y a un plus d’un mois ici, mais on le pardonne, l’erreur du débutant mouahahaha).  Ça donne envie d’envoyer son CV à Eidos MTL…

Du côté animations 3D on a été servit avec Descendants qui est vraiment magnifique et qu’on vous recommande vivement de voir !  Ça a vraiment de la gueule.

Du côté courts métrages au HD DSLR on a une fantastique vidéo d’un œuf dégoulinant en slow motion ici (ca y est… il remet  ça, il fait sa pub…bah quoi ?).  Plus sérieusement, c’est SHADOWS qui a retenu notre attention, avec un excellent montage, tourné au Nikon D90.


Pour conclure ce premier Best Of Week, voici la vidéo inutile de la semaine ! Voilà un grand moment « videoludique » que je vous laisse savourer…

The goal of the film is to show the different capabilities of each camera in a way that is interesting to watch and has more artistic value than chart tests or side-by-side shots.
The lenses and camera used for each shot are listed on each shot, a version without the text is coming soon.
The 5D footage was shot 1080/30p, slowed to 24p with Cinema Tools.
The HVX footage was shot 1080/24p and 720p for the time-lapse. Utilized Letus Extreme 35mm adapter for most shots.
The GH1 footage was shot 720/60p, converted to 24p with Compressor or straight in the timeline in Final Cut Pro depending on the shot.
Footage was edited in a 720p timeline.
Edited in Final Cut Pro.
Color Graded in Magic Bullet Looks.
